Sandhya Wadhwani

"I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers." – Claude Monet

Sandhya's flowers seem to ooze warmth from her canvas, a quality that mirrors her personality. With the abundance of bright hues and creamy backgrounds, each painting represents a gentle vision of spreading cheer and happiness like that artist feels. It is rare that an artist today feels the need to do something uncomplicated and simple, but we must cherish it as it is something that is much needed. She takes little interest in the form and character of the individual flowers but rather refers to the work as a cathartic experience of healing and transcendence.

Sandhya's first-hand experience in art was when she started painting on porcelain. After a remarkable completion of 40+ feet murals for Kangaroo Kids School in Delhi, Jaipur and Kolkata, her interest evolved into passion, earning her various spots at prestigious art fairs such as "Art Expo Malaysia", "Art Stage Singapore", "affordable Art fairs" and locations such as Finland, Dubai, Jakarta, India, Malaysia, and Singapore. Sandhya has had her own solo shows in Singapore. She has regular demonstrations and workshops held in local and international schools in Singapore with key emphasis on pallet knife oil painting. Moving to Singapore proved to be a blessing in disguise as here she was introduced to watercolors and oil on canvas.

Currently, Sandhya adopts oil as her medium of art, adding layers of expression to every piece. With every layer Sandhya focuses on bringing out the best, the culmination of not just art, but poetry and philosophy born of vibrant colors that would brighten up anyone or any place instantly.
